Updates and development
Since the day I sent the email with the proposal and the request to change the books’ classification, along with my data and suggestions (April 4th, 2024), 4 days passed until I got a reply. Did they agree to my work proposal or not? Well, you can judge for yourselves from the email screenshot.
Today, April 11th, while checking something else for the website, I noticed some of the books have already been updated with the information I provided. In here I make a revision of those books and whether its correction was well executed or not.
To my surprise, eventhough I gave detailed information about the mistakes, scans to prove them and exactly what needed to be written instead on the catalogue, around half of the books were not corrected correctly. If the library insists on ignoring my proposal on doing it myself -as someone that actually cares about the outcome- I think the least they can do is put effort into making sure that they modify the catalogue to a certain standard; especially when is something I can double check with a very simple search.
On a different note, a big day for me (May 3rd), KdG’s library bought a copy of the book I made as part of my Master Graduation Project [”The 5 tortillas my grandma gave birth to (and the many more yet to come)], so from now on I am also in the catalog with my very own book in galician!!! I gave them especific guidelines to make sure it doesn’t get on the system incorrectly.
